Back {to} School

(Thurs. 8/25), was Mr. J & Ms.T's first day of school.
My little lady started her second year of preschool (at a NEW school!), and Mr. J has officially started KINDERGARTEN!!!!

I'm still in shock! My hot rod shouldn't be ready for kindergarten...he should still be my chunky littlel juicy lipped baby!!
He was a trooper though! And he loved every minute of it!!

I'll leave you with some first day of school pictures of my little one's as I've got some housework that's calling my name!

Southwestern Sausage Tarts

 Southwestern Sausage Tarts (http://www.jimmydean.com/)
  • 1 pkg. Jimmy Dean® Regular Flavor Pork Sausage Roll (we used neeses instead...we prefer that)
  • 2 pkgs. (14.1 ounces each) refrigerated pie crusts (4 crusts) (I only used 1pkg of crusts)
  • 6 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 jar (16 ounces) chunky salsa, drained
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Beat eggs, milk and pepper in medium bowl with wire whisk until well blended.

Add in the cheese and salsa. Mix well.

Brown the sausage. Drain. Add to the egg mixture and mix well.

Roll out the pie dough and using a 4" cutter, cut out circles and put into greased muffin tin to create the tart crusts.

Spoon the egg and sausage mixture into the tart crusts. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.

Take the tarts out and let cool for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy!!

Date Night {In}!

Last night, Mr. Homemaker and I decided that we were going to have a date night IN. When we mentioned it to each other while we were grocery shopping (yes, he came with me and the kids to shop!), we got an "ewwwwww...that's gross" from a certain 5 yr old eaves dropper! Anyhow, we decided that we'd put Mr. J & Ms. T to bed a little early (no nap = plausable cause, right?!) and we'd pop in a movie that neither of us had see.

Our movie of choice was:
AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!

Pair our movie with some delish wine:

And we had an awesome night! We popped some popcorn, drank some wine, watched a great movie, and just really enjoyed each other's company.
I can definately say, this will become a weekly "must".
With that being said, it got me to thinking of other things that we could do for date nights, so I scoured the internet for other ideas.
These sites have some great ideas, and we're definately going to try some of them.
If you have a great date night idea, I'd love to hear it!!

What Was She Thinking?????

This would've probably been the question on a lot of people's minds.
If they'd seen my kids tonight before they went into CHURCH for VBS, they would've totally been floored.
BUT, little would they've know, tonight was crazy hair/hat night at bible school.
The kids looked silly but, they enjoyed it!

Fishing {Dalton Style!}

While away on the business trip in Columbia, Mr. Homemaker bought Mr. J & Ms. T each a brand new fishing pole! He was dead set on the kids learning to fish. Since we were at the beach this past weekend, and we used yesterday as our day to recoop.,  Mr. Homemaker decided that today would be our fishing day. We didn't really have any luck, but the kids enjoyed it. And I ALMOST caught a turtle, but I didn't leave without a few fire ant bites! Gotta love NC and those pesky little boogers!

Our Mini Beach Vacation

Mr. Homemaker came in mid-day Friday from his business trip. Needless to say, I had two V.E.R.Y. excited monkies!
The kids had their final night of VBS and an ice cream party. When the ice cream party was over, we packed up and headed off to the beach.
Mr. Homemaker had promised Mr. J & Ms. T that if they were good while he was gone, he would take them to the beach.
Well, they were VERY GOOD for me!!!!
So, we headed out to the beach late Friday night.
We landed in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was awesome! Too bad we had to come home last night.
I will let the pictures do the talking for the fun we had!!
Enjoy!
